The Fallen Star Series By Jessica Sorenson

I have recently become obsessed with Jessica Sorenson.  Her books deal with real issues and she doesn't dance around the painful topics.  There are four books in the series, The Fallen Star, The Underworld, The Vision and The Promise.  As a fantasy series there are many different character types like vampires, fairies, witches and seers.

What I Liked.

There were many different aspects of the books that I liked.  Mainly I liked the progression of the story throughout the four books almost a year passes which seems pretty realistic.  I liked most of the characters and character development.  Laylen was my favorite character because I found him to be the most believable.

What I Didn't Like.

There are a few things I didn't like as much.  I found the progression of the villain kind of slow.  In the first book of the series the villain is often there however as the series progresses there seems to be less and less of the villain.  I also found the main character to be a little naive I think that although she is believable I don't think she would still be so naive at the end of the series after all she has been through.

Would I Recommend It.

Overall, I enjoyed the series enough that I would recommend it.  It is a good series for lovers of young adult fantasy with a touch of romance.  I would recommend the book for teenagers, since that is the point of view the books were written from.
